Sunday Morning Worship

Sunday Morning Coffee Church - 8:30 AM

Join us each Sunday at 8:30 am in the Fellowship Hall in the Nettie Hammond Building at the Atkinson St. entrance. At Coffee Church, we share a light breakfast, coffee & juice as we gather around tables for fellowship and contemporary, casual worship with music provided by our praise team.

Accessibility: Handicap Parking is available in front of the door.

Sunday Traditional Worship - 11:00 AM

Join us at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary on Church St. In the sanctuary, our worship takes a more traditional form with organ music, a choir anthem and hymns sung from the hymnal.

Children's Church for Pre-K and elementary age students is available during worship on the first floor of the education wing. As part of Children's Church, the children come to the Sanctuary for a special children's sermon just for them.

Accessibility: There is an elevator on ground level that is accessible through the first door in the breezeway between the sanctuary building and the Nettie Hammond Building (near the playground). A ramp leads into the sanctuary from the elevator. Hearing assist devices are available upon request at the AV desk in the sanctuary.

Holy Communion: We celebrate Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month. We believe in an open table-all are welcome to receive communion as a sign of God's forgiveness, reconciliation and love. Gluten-free elements are available for those with gluten allergies or sensitivities.

Upcoming in worship:

Advent begins on Sunday, Nov. 30th

Advent/Christmas worship series On the Way to Bethlehem 'See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' - Luke 7:27b NRSVUE

We are so often focused on the destination in our travels. "Where are you going?" is the most common question upon hearing that someone is heading out of town. While the destination is perhaps the impetus for deciding to "go," it is often the journey itself that offers the most memorable moments–frustrating or delightful. This Advent season, we will pay attention not just to the destination of Christmas, but also to the places where events occurred that led to a starry night on which a child was born who would change the world. And we will ponder our own milestones–the progress and the potholes "on the way."

Special services this season:

Dec. 14th: Christmas Pageant

Children, youth & adults will participate in a spontaneous, impromptu Paper Bag Pageant, Once Upon a Manger during worship. No rehearsal required and no lines to memorize! Just show up and you can be part of the pageant with minimal costumes, a few props and one simple line. We will worship together in the Fellowship Hall at 10:00 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch to celebrate the Advent/Christmas Season. The backdrop for the pageant will also serve as a setting for family Christmas pictures.

Dec. 24th: Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service

We will gather in the sanctuary for a traditional Christmas Eve service with favorite Christmas hymns, a special time with children and an inspiring message. We will end the service with holy communion and Silent Night sung by candlelight. Children who are too young to hold candles will be given a glow stick instead.
